I loved how complicated and real the friendship was between Val and Milly. I definitely felt the love between them but i thought their attachment to each other was unhealthy and unbalanced. They both like depended on each other but somehow still somehow felt like the other wasn’t doing enough. Because hello, they didn’t communicate. 😅
Val being needy and needing reassurance, wanting people to SHOW their love, and Milly thinking people can see her love without ever expressing it. Definitely made me think about the difference between loving someone and loving them in the way they receive it.

Jerome wrote that. The love can be genuine and not heal everything, insecurities, grief, resentment and expectations change the way we give and receive love. I loved Jerome and definitely understood his position. I liked him for Milly but hey, another lifetime babes.

This book definitely touched a lot. Grief, money, privilege, motherhood, postpartum. They were so good at recognizing the faults in each other but not seeing their own. THIS BOOK AS GOOD AF. I definitely had to take breaks reading this because so many parts were just TOO relatable lol. But definitely one of my top books for 2026.
